The Eastern Nebraska Chapter of SWE hosts meetings or events about every other month, Events include personal wellness topics and activities, professional development speakers, and social opportunities. Professional development topics range from work-life balance to networking to technical presentations or facility tours.
We also visit after-school programs and participate in STEM events for our youth. At each event, students, ages 9-15, perform hands-on activities such as making a polymer, building a bridge, building circuits, and many other exciting activities.
In 2007, the Section launched the first WOW! That’s Engineering event. WOW! That’s Engineering! creates an experience for middle school girls where they have the opportunity to meet female engineers and technical professionals, and hear first-hand about these exciting career paths. Women engineers present interactive activities, and the girls experience the creativity and innovation that goes on in the field of engineering.
The Eastern Nebraska Section celebrated their 30-year anniversary in 2014.
