Discover the basics of energy modeling with Jessica Renner and Eastern Nebraska SWE! Learn how building energy simulations can optimize design, reduce energy consumption, and support certifications like LEED. We’ll explore commonly used tools, key inputs and outputs, and practical best practices, along with an overview of the ASHRAE Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) certification. Whether you’re new to energy modeling or considering certification, this presentation will provide valuable insights and actionable next steps.

Our speaker, Jessica Renner, is a senior engineer and project manager at Energy Studio. She is a registered mechanical engineer and a certified ASHRAE building energy modeling professional (BEMP). Previously, she was a mechanical systems engineer at a multi-national firm, where she specialized in energy efficient design for healthcare, education, and office buildings. She is active with ASHRAE at the society and regional level and was selected as one of Engineering Systems Top 20 Women to Watch in HVAC in 2020.
